To further explain, the 99 Signs of Danger Course was designed to instruct law enforcement officers to identify potential threats long before the threats become an attack.  It will greatly increase an officer's ability to avoid attacks, ambushes and confrontations through the use of Cover, Concealment, De-escalation, Communication and Body Language.  Law enforcement officers are taught to conduct observations earlier and more accurately to gain a truer perspective of danger or false indicators. Officers who have attended this course are less fearful of persons contacted and are less likely to utilize physical and deadly physical force. The point is to avoid conflict, increase public perception and increase officer safety.  The indicators and skills taught in this class are the least taught skills in law enforcement today which is why officers become arrogant to the public, feel threatened by people and misunderstand context of interactions as wells as rely on physical confrontation and firearm confrontation than defusing a situation.  This course teaches how to defuse a situation, deescalate a situation and to prevent confrontational situations through effective verbal and non-verbal communication enhanced by accurate analysis of a person's (suspect or citizen) demeanor, etc...
