The Medical Evaluation Response Initiative Team (MERIT) are offering a free, full-day training seminar to share valuable medical information with DCFS Investigators, Child Protection Supervisors,  Child Protection Managers, Child Welfare Specialists, Intact workers, Children’s Advocacy Center staff, law enforcement professionals, prosecutors, and other multidisciplinary team members.

Dr. Ray Davis will cover: 

·    Child abuse reporting and statistics

·    Injuries and medical conditions, such as burns, bruises, fractures, abusive head trauma, blunt abdominal trauma, bleeding disorders, & metabolic disorders

·    Untrue defenses and what to look for in your investigation

·    Collaborating with medical professionals

·    Sexual abuse examinations and findings

·    Failure to thrive and child neglect
