Single Officer Response to Active Shooter

This course is designed for officers responding to an Active Shooter incident without an immediate backup.  Incidents of these types are becoming more prevalent every day. Getting on site and locating the threat is crucial to stopping these violent acts.

Instruction will consist of a brief history of policing in this area and how to use the tactics for this type of response. The majority of the class will be hands-on training on the tactics involved with the use of simunitions.

This class will involve decision based scenarios involving the reasonable constitutional use of force, review of the legal aspects governing the use of force.

Officers will need to bring a set of clear safety/shooting glasses, duty belt with holster and magazine holder, and a flashlight.

Wear clothing for active participation in practical scenarios with simunitions.

 

No guns or ammunition will be allowed in the class

during the practical exercises.
