Instructor:
Sabra Ebersole graduated from DePaul College of Law in 1993. She worked in a general private practice until 1995, when she went to work for the Cook County Public Guardian. As an Assistant Public Guardian in Juvenile Court, she represented minors who were the subject of abuse and neglect proceedings.
In 1999, she became an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. She joined the office to work in the newly created Family Law Track in Juvenile Court. She prosecuted cases in both the Child Protection Division and the Delinquency Division. After a total of ten years in the Juvenile Justice Bureau she moved to the Criminal Bureau.
While in the Criminal Bureau she served in the Felony Domestic Relations Division and the Sex Crimes Division. She specialized in prosecuting acquaintance rape and intimate partner sexual assaults. She tried dozens of jury trials, including the trials of two doctors who were convicted of sexually assaulting patients during medical examinations. She has presented multiple trainings to prosecutors, law enforcement and victim advocates on issues surrounding sexual assault and domestic violence prosecutions.
In 2015, Sabra left the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and returned to private practice. Her practice is concentrated in the areas of Domestic Relations, Juvenile Justice, and representation of victims of violent crime.
