This class is hosted by Shannon Fire Department in partnership with Mercy Health Systems.

It is cost free for Carroll County Fire/EMS/Police and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.

This course is designed to define roles, responsibilities, and operational procedures to support a Rescue Task Force response during an active shooter type event. The course will allow police and fire/EMS first responders the opportunity to identify the operational skill sets required to manage this type of an event.

COURSE GOALS:

1. Provide participants a suggested structure for the command and control of an active shooter event using a unified command process
2. Provide participants an understanding of the Rescue Task Force concept and philosophy
3. Provide participants an understanding of Rescue Task Force responsibilities, tactics, techniques and strategies
