Free Training-Forming a Campus Behavioral Threat Assessment Team

The Illinois School and Campus Safety program is offering a session of the Forming a Campus Behavioral Threat Assessment Team course in Chicago, IL on March 23rd.  The promotional flyer containins alink for the course in case you or individuals from your district, department, or institution would like to attend.  The gold "register now" box on the flyer contains a hyperlink to the online registration.

This 1-day course is designed to address violence prevention through behavioral threat assessment using best practices, research, and showcasing different threat assessment models for higher education institutions.  Participants will gain an enhanced understanding and ability to identify persons of concern exhibiting threatening or aberrant behaviors, evaluate the risk of the threat, and provide appropriate interventions and case management to reduce the risk of violence.  Ultimately, this course will help increase the capacity of higher education institutions in responding to the mandates of the Illinois Campus Security Enhancement Act and improving overall campus violence prevention efforts.  The course consists of five modules which include classroom instruction, guided discussions, and practical activities involving case studies intended to facilitate discussion and decision-making.
