COURSE CONTENT:  This course is designed to help officers identify core character traits that affect officer safety, interpersonal relationships, community interactions, and leadership potential. The program will explore high-core value applications that will enhance officer effectiveness and improve performance in all areas of personal and professional life.

TRAINING ELEMENTS:

1.      Enhanced Officer Safety

• More comprehensive pre-contact threat assessment

• Greater awareness of precursors to violent or aggressive behavior

• Closing the ever-present hesitation gap (85% of officers using deadly force report hesitating) in use of reasonable levels of force

 

2.      Increased Interpersonal Effectiveness at Work

• Increase in community member satisfaction in L.E. contacts

• Developing community members who are promoters of the basic mission of L.E. with each contact

• Significantly lower Community Complaints

• Increase citizen cooperation

• Increased ability to have real accountability and address wrongs in the work place in a positive, proactive manner

 

3.      Increased Effectiveness in Communication

• Increase listening versus merely hearing

• Greater understanding of real underlying issues

• Greater problem-solving ability

 

4.      Increased Interpersonal Effectiveness in Personal Life

• Significantly lower personal stress level
