COURSE CONTENT:  This course will inform and update Detectives/Patrol Officers in current criminal procedure laws in Illinois.  The course examines procedural law, substantive law, case law, and photographic crime scene studies. Actual documented case studies are used to illustrate the current state of our laws.

INSTRUCTOR BIO: 

Jeff Pavletic is the First Assistant State” Attorney for the Lake County (Illinois) States Attorney’s Office. He is in charge of the Criminal Divisions of that Office and has prosecuted over 150 jury trials with a concentration in homicide and violent crime. He lectures nationwide to police officers and prosecutors on all topics of criminal law to capital punishment.

Additionally, Jeff served as Special Counsel to the United States House of Representatives Judiciary Committee. Jeff has been featured on Court TV, TruTV, The Wall Street Journal, and the Discovery Channel. He has received the Illinois State Crime Commission’s State’s Attorney of the Year Award, Felony Trial Attorney of the Year, and other civic awards.
