Investigators will have priority attendance in this class

Investigators must have this training and the Investigator specific training completed by 12/31/18. 

All Patrol Officers must have completed this training by 12/31/19

This course is in compliance with the Sexual Assault Incident Procedure Act, Public Act 099-0801. The Act is a multi-disciplinary approach to developing best practices in law enforcement, prosecution, hospitals and crime labs for handling sexual assault investigations and prosecutions.

 

COURSE CONTENT:

This course will provide initial responding officers with the necessary training to properly investigate sexual assault and sexual abuse incidents with the components for victim centered investigations. 

 

Emphasis will be focused on proper response, law, trauma, evidence collection and report writing, to include victim referrals for trauma-related services.   Case based scenarios will be used to provide the framework for the application of this procedure.
