The Train-The-Trainer course is for selected participants who have applied and were accepted to this specialized training.

All participants must also attend the 16 hr. Basic IPC training held April 8-9, 2019 in Rockford.

INTERDICTION FOR THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN is designed to make patrol officers aware of the variety of resources available to assist them in establishing the status of a child who may be missing, exploited, or at risk of exploitation and what courses of action are immediately available

This course is designed to provide the advanced concepts of the Interdiction for the Protection of Children (IPC) training and to certify a team of instructors. It also helps instructors develop a working knowledge of the variety of resources available to assist officers who attend the basic IPC training course. The intent of this certification is to provide a working format for the instructors to work together to present the IPC course as a multidisciplinary team.

The basic IPC training may be instructed only by Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) personnel, instructors certified by Texas DPS to instruct the material, and guest instructors at the request of Texas DPS personnel or the certified instructors.

An interdisciplinary team approach achieves many purposes, including valuing a collaborative team effort, building community capacity to address these complex crimes, and providing for a broader reach and involvement across professional disciplines.

Students will need to bring their own laptop

The Texas Department of Public Safety reserves the right to select the applicants. In addition to completing the application, each applicant must submit a resume or curriculum vitae.

·   Victim Service applicants must represent those who provide victim services within the criminal justice system or must currently work with law enforcement and have experience working with children.
