NEW – ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES LAW UPDATE – DE-CRIMINALIZATION OF CANNABIS
The Illinois Illegal Substances Law Update will contain a complete update of all of the legislative changes to the laws concerning illegal substances over the past five years.
Included will be an analysis of the recently enacted Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act (the de-criminalization of cannabis), the modification of the Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Act (including the now authorized “grow your own” authority and recent caselaw concerning the Conceal Carry Act (including possession near or in parks, public housing and carrying concealed Tasers) as well as current statutes involving Controlled Substances, Methamphetamine, Cannabis, Alcohol for purposes of DUI, and Tobacco with respect to minors (including the de-criminalization of possession of tobacco for minors).
A case law analysis will be provided illustrating each of these substances. Specific topics to be “the bath salts control act”, synthetic cannabinoids, and cathinones; along with discussions of “hot topic” areas that have been dealt with by the Illinois legislature and the courts.
