ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE TAKEN THE SEXUAL ASSAULT TRAUMA INFORMED RESPONSE COURSE.

This course is in compliance with the Sexual Assault Incident Procedure Act, Public Act 099-0801. The Act is a multi-disciplinary approach to developing best practices in law enforcement, prosecution, hospitals and crime labs for handling sexual assault investigations and prosecutions.

This course will include:

  • Sexual Assault Medical Forensic Examinations
  • Offender Characteristics

  • Suspect Forensic Examinations

  • Sexual Assault response and resource teams
  • Working with victim advocates
  • Working with prosecutors
  • Victims’ rights Victim notification
  • Consideration for specific populations of communities
  • Applicable Illinois sexual assault/sexual abuse laws
