2019 Crisis Intervention Team Conference is June 3-4, 2019

The 2019 Crisis Intervention Team Conference is designed to bring together law enforcement officers, correctional staff CIT trained professionals, community resources, consumers, and other interested stakeholders to discuss CIT program development, best practices, and other relevant information. The conference is June 3-4, 2019, at the Naperville Embassy Suites.

The Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board is a national leader in support of crisis intervention teams. This conference will bring together law enforcement personnel, consumers and their family, health care professionals, advocates, faith community members, educators, researchers, and others. The bi-annual conference focuses on aspects of crisis intervention and law enforcement response, along with officer safety and wellness.

Keynote Speakers

Jack Harris

Jack is a trained mediator, a licensed counselor, a board certified expert in traumatic stress (by the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress), and a certified instructor for the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF). Before embarking on his successful consulting career, Jack spent twenty years with the Tucson Police Department, retiring as Captain.

Kevin Hines

Kevin Hines is a storyteller at heart. He is a best-selling author, global public speaker, and award winning documentary filmmaker. In 2000, Kevin attempted to take his life by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. Many factors contributed to his miraculous survival including a sea lion which kept him afloat until the Coast Guard arrived. Kevin now travels the world sharing his story of hope, healing, and recovery while teaching people of all ages the art of wellness and the ability to survive pain with true resilience.

Clarke and Tracie Paris

Creators of the Winning the Battle Seminar, Clarke and Tracie Paris want to bridge the gap that exists between law enforcement officers and the help that is currently provided by their respective agencies. Clarke is the Creator/Producer of the award winning documentary film on police stress/suicide, “The Pain Behind the Badge”. A veteran of law enforcement, Clarke retired from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Tracie is a Registered Nurse.
