Training Goals:  To help field officers and L.E. Administrators

·         Understand the legal requirements and implications of mandatory line up protocols

·         Assemble live and photo line ups that comply with the mandates of ILCS 5/107A

·         Proactively deal with the realities and exigencies of conducting line ups when compliance with 107A is not practicable or feasible

Course Content:

·         Background/History of Line-up requirements

·         Optional methods

·         Mandatory admonitions to eyewitness prior to line up

·         Mandatory acknowledgment by eyewitness, prior to line up

·         The conduct of the line up

·         The identification of a suspect

·         The official report of the line Up

·         Documenting “impracticality “of strict compliance in the report

·         General considerations & consequences
