Students are to bring a laptop or tablet (no iPad) to class with Google Earth Pro for desktop installed on the device.

PURPOSE OF COURSE: This 2-day (16 hour) program has been designed to provide students with the necessary information to: Instruct Law Enforcement Personnel on skills and resources to seize and analyze Cell Phone data & iOS/Google Records.

COURSE OVERVIEW:    This course will provide law enforcement officers with the necessary information to successfully seize and analyze Cell Phone data & iOS/Google Records. Students will be instructed on how to properly seize mobile phones and how to examine the data. Cell phone forensic extraction tools will be discussed along with instructions on how data is stored on a cell phone. The class will combine classroom lecture and practical exercises with forensic mapping software and Cellebrite phone extraction reports.

  • Proper use of geolocation data from third party apps and other data
  • Proper use of Cellebrite to review phone data.
  • Introduction to Google Earth
  • How to forensically map Apple iOS device location data

  • Understanding Google Geofence location data
  • How to forensically map Google Geofence location data
