PURPOSE OF COURSE: This 2-day course program has been designed by Danielle Butts and Brian Galske to assist students in building their skill in public speaking and presentation development. Based on individual needs, students will select a topic and develop a presentation primarily for students, parents and/or community groups.
COURSE OVERVIEW: This course will primarily focus on the individual officers' strengths and weaknesses of public speaking to enhance their presentation. Students will be expected to actively engage through self-evaluation, peer evaluation and instructor feedback. Students will develop a presentation on the topic of their choice during this class designed specifically for students, parents and/or community groups.
COURSE GOALS: This course is designed to enhance officers' public speaking skills. Officers will learn about different presentation and speaking styles. Each officer will evaluate their own public speaking style, identify their strengths and areas for improvement. Officers will develop a presentation targeted for students, parents and/or community groups.
