VCQB 1
With ambushes on law enforcement up over 100%, and most of them happening around vehicles, officers need better options and understanding to survive gunfights in and around a vehicle. During this class, students will be shown PowerPoints with statistics and videos, conduct live fire ballistics demonstrations, learn alternative shooting positions, as well as run dry and live fire drills to hone skills. This is a fast-paced and physical class. Officers should have a firm grasp of firearm fundamentals and firearms safety must be adhered to at all times. This class has a short classroom component, the rest is spent at an outdoor range. Officers should dress appropriately for the weather.
Student Materials: Full duty belt
Ballistic vest
Duty pistol with 3 magazines
Eye and ear protection
500 Rounds of Ammunition
This course has been approved by ILETSB to meet the following mandates:
Emergency Medical Response .50 hr/.50 scenario based
Constitutional/Proper use of Law Enforcement Authority .50
Use of Force 1 hr/1 hr scenario based
High Risk Traffic Stops 2 hr/2 hr scenario based
Officer Safety Techniques 2 hr/2 hr scenario based
Law Concerning stop, searches, and use of force 2 hr/1 hr scenario based
