PURPOSE OF COURSE: This 3-day (24 hour) program has been designed by Hi-Tech
Investigations, LLC. to provide students with the necessary information to obtain intelligence and evidence with social media and other online websites.

COURSE OVERVIEW: This course will provide students with the necessary information to find
and collect evidence from social media companies and other online websites or investigative tools. The class will combine classroom lecture and practical exercises with a forensic mapping tool for social media device locations along with using the internet to find and locate evidence and/or offenders.

COURSE GOALS:
  • Seizing Mobile Phones properly
  • Using Mobile Phone Forensic tools
  • Understanding the type of data that can be obtained from a mobile phone extraction
  • Understanding digital data and how it is stored on mobile phones
  • Understanding Apple and Google device data and collection
  • Proper use of Cellebrite and Magnet Axiom to review phone data
  • Understanding Cellular Networks
  • Obtaining Cellular Records
  • Analyzing Cellular Records
  • Fugitive Tracking with Cellular Records
  • Using LPR data and video surveillance
  • Understanding Time Difference of Arrival Records

This course has been certified by the ILETSB and approved to meet the following mandates:

  • Procedural Justice - 13.0 hours
  • Civil Rights - 1.50 hours
  • Const. Use of LE Authority - 1.0 hours
