INSTRUCTIONAL GOAL: The pandemic of Cyber-Bullying, Vaping and Sexting in our schools is at an all-time high. With the advent of depression and suicidal tendencies as a result, first responders in our schools and police department must be trained to handle these situations with great sensitivity. The goal MUST be to make the criminal activity cease and restore peace with that student and correct the behavior of the perpetrator. There are times when a student presents an incident of Cyber-Bullying or Sextortion to the school administrator as the secondary and/or the re-victimization of that student. The reason LEO’s and School Officials continue to “brush off” the student is due to lack of training and understanding of Social Media and Internet Investigations. The goal of this training is to empower he student and their parents to gather digital evidence against the aggressor so school administrators and law enforcement may find out who the perpetrator is and make the activity stop so that the victim feels safe. The LEO and School Administrator will learn the fundamentals of investigating social media and internet crimes. In an effort to find out who the suspect is and then be able to bestow on the perpetrator, consequences through restorative justice practices and education.
INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES:

- Obtain basic overview of various social networks and what information they possess.
