Purpose of Course:
This 32-hour program has been designed by James Wagner and Associates, LLC for the purpose of providing information, skills, and resources for managing training at an Illinois Police Agency.Course Overview:
The primary focus of the course will be to provide training officers with the specialized skills, knowledge and abilities needed to manage the training of their departments.Course Goals:
The goals of this course are to:- Identify training organization and Policy needs
- Discuss Statutory Requirements and case law issues related to training.
- Discuss Accreditation Requirements
- Identify OSHA Requirements
- Discuss how to identify Department/ Job specific needs
- Be able to establish a trainer selection, development, and evaluation process.
- Be able to construct a comprehensive training plan
- Discuss training design and implementation
- Be able to construct assessment tools
- Be able to complete a training cost analysis
- Discuss record keeping
- Identify risk Management concerns
- Discuss liability issues related to training.
- Be able to complete annual reporting related to training
This course has been certified by the ILETSB and approved to meet the following mandates:
- Legal Updates -4.0 hours
- Procedural Justice - 4.0 hours
