Pistol 1.0 Gun Handling Skills (4.5 hrs.)-Forreston

Purpose of this training: to re-establish basic pistol gun handling skills

Goals:

• improve basic marksmanship skills
• improve reloading skills
• improve malfunction clearance skills

Equipment needed:

• duty belt & holster (patrol/uniform) or;
• concealed holster & two magazine pouches (investigations/non-uniform)
• at least 3 magazines
• 200 rds. of ammunition
• eye and ear protection
• appropriate clothing for range work
• body armor

There are some required MTU1 waivers to be completed prior to the class date. Agencies will be supplied the forms after they register an officer for this training.

The firearms training waivers must be received by MTU1 prior to the training date

IMPORTANT- if this is the first time the officer attends training at this facility they will need the following information from the officer when the officer checks in at the business desk to sign their waiver.  Officers need to have this information handy
