COURSE CONTENT:  This presentation is intended to serve as a continuing update of the evolution of Criminal Law in Illinois.   It is geared toward providing police officers with the latest analysis of “hot topics” in criminal law.

It will consist of brief updates in areas such as Search and Seizure, Confessions and Admissions, Law Enforcement Liability, Statutory Construction Case Law, Constitutionality of Statutes Case Law, and Legislation that have occurred within the last two years.

These enactments will be analyzed in order to determine what impact they had upon law enforcement officers and what future enactments may be expected.
