This will serve as a refresher for participants that have already completed Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE). This course satisfies the Illinois Department of Transportation Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Grant requirement of having an SFST refresher every four years from the date of their last completed certified training. Additional focus is placed on Illinois specific DUI laws, case law, and the administrative code.
Participants will also receive a legal update including processing an arrested driver, warning to motorists, toxicology sampling protocols, laboratory reports, and search warrants. The Illinois Statutes and recent court decisions impacting DUI are covered.
Every officer in the course will receive access to the latest digital resources on the Dynamic Impairment LLC website including flow charts, sample reports for a variety of situations, cheat sheets, research studies, case law and more.
